The pineapple has been cultivated for over 4000 years and the people of South America have always used it as medicine and food, as well as for wine-making. It was given to the sailor Christopher Columbus as a welcoming gift and experienced a rapid cultivation in tropical areas in the 16th century. Because of its sweetness and costly cultivation it was regarded as a luxury item by the European nobility and was as valuable as a carriage. Because of the neurotransmitter serotonin, which has an influence on our well-being, the pineapple is considered having an euphoric and aphrodisiac effect.
The Pineapple Fruit Purée Mix by Monin is gluten free, without artificial flavors, GMO-free and vegan.
