Elderflower grows in bushes or small trees near buildings. You can find the plant in the northern hemisphere, parts of australia, asia and south america. The black elderflower is popular in europe, blooms in may and june, and is harvested until july. It has a healing effect and is used for teas against colds and fever. The black elderflower has black berries, they ripen in summer and can be picked in autumn. Just be a little patient and wait until they are really black. They are mildly toxic as long as they are unripe.
