Massive and at the same time filigree in its appearance, it embodies a similar contrast like the one between the strong and sweet notes of a good whisky. Alongside the elaborate cut décor, it brings along a touch of luxury and is ideally suited to to present your favorite whiskys in the most appealing way. The Highland carafe doesn't only allow you to take a clear look at the content – the unique light refraction even makes any glance a bit more interesting! The prominent and valuable glass stopper doesn't only look good, but makes for tight closure as well – an important quality for anyone that really cares about their whiskys.
Like all products by Nachtmann, the decanter is made of the finest crystal glass and features the accustomed Nachtmann quality attributes. High clarity and brilliance as well as increased break resistance make for long-lasting joy. As a matter of course, the carafe is not only suited for serving whisky – you can also try soft drinks or whatever else you might fancy..
The origins of F. X. Nachtmann Bleikristallwerke GmbH go back to 1834. The glass cutter Michael Nachtmann initially produced bottles, jugs and drinking glasses together with 25 glassmakers in the glassworks Herzogau in Unterhütte near Waldmünchen. In the decades that followed, the company grew continuously and relocated the production site several times. Around the turn of the century, Nachtmann came to Neustadt an der Waldnaab, today's headquarters. Shortly after the production of lead crystal was introduced (1912), a new plant was built in Amberg in 1920. After the end of the Second World War and the reconstruction of the destroyed production facilities, the company started producing lead crystal again. The end of the 20th century was marked by takeovers and cooperations. In 1990 the well-known crystal glass factory Spiegelau was taken over and in the following year a production cooperation was entered into with Rosenthal AG under the technical and commercial management of Nachtmann. In 2004, the takeover of the company and its subsidiary Spiegelau by Riedel Glas created one of the largest quality glass manufacturers in Europe. Since then, Riedel Glass Works has combined the brands of the Austrian wine glass manufacturer Riedel, Nachtmann and Spiegelau.
