Flavor: woody notes and an acidic, gourmet profile reminiscent of grapes
Application: cocktails, non-alcoholic cocktails, iced teas, smoothies, frappés, lemonades, dessert
The jabuticaba fruit comes from Brazil and its 3-4cm sized berries look almost like a cross between cherry and plum. The fruits grow directly on the trunk of the tree, which definitely makes them special. The light-colored flesh of the jabuticaba berry is jelly-like and tastes similar to grapes, but with a woody note. Monin suggests simply adding a jabuticaba twist to your favorite cocktail classics.
