This traditional julep cup made of stainless steel is meant for Mint Juleps as well as for variants and your own creations.
Juleps have been mixed in the south of the USA since before the term 'cocktail' was even used for alcoholic mixed drinks. They are traditionally served in decorative metal cups, like this one. It is made of stainless steel, is matted on the outside, while the surface is brushed on the inside. The cup itself is relatively simple in shape. It opens slightly towards the top, where it finally ends in a folded edge. The special thing is the striking base. It is about 1cm high and fans out towards the bottom in a three-part stair-step look. This attractive bottom design provides stability and a pleasant heaviness in the hand, and is also typical for Julep Mugs. The base is securely attached to the cup with a circumferential weld.
The well-known Mint Julep consists of bourbon, mint, (powdered) sugar and ice. This Grapefruit Julep is a fruity variant.
Ingredients Grapefruit Julep:
1,5oz Vodka
0,75oz pink grapefruit juice
0,5oz lime juice
0,3oz pomegranate syrup
0,3oz honey syrup
8 mint leaves
Preparation: Add the vodka, grapefruit juice, lime juice, pomegranate syrup and the mint leaves together in a mixing glass and then stir in the honey syrup. Then add ice, shake properly and finally strain into the julep cup and onto crushed ice.
Please note that the sticker may leave residue.
