Swizzle Sticks have their origin in the West Indies of the 18th Century. They were originally made of the branches of the tropical plant Quararibea turbinata and used for mixing particular cocktails. These so-called Swizzles also played their role in the 20th Century's blooming Tiki culture.
With their take on this tradition-rich tool, Überbartools now presents a contemporary successor: The use of cast alloy and stainless steel makes these more durable than their wooden forefathers while the different available finishes allow you to match your selection with your existing assortment of bar tools.
While the Caribbean archetype was mixed on a larger scale, Überbartools' Swizzle Sticks are suited for mixing in accordingly sturdy drink or mixing glasses. Simply place the ingredients for your Swizzle into a glass together with enough crushed ice and put the stick into the glass; then take the upper part between your palms and set it in motion by rubbing them together in a similar fashion to a scout utilizing friction to start a fire in the wild. Besides aerating and slightly diluting the drink, this will frost up most of the glass - just as impressive visually as it is on the technical side of things!
