This decanter from the 'Willsberger Anniversary' collection by Spiegelau thrives on its sweeping shape. From the top, the side walls initially run concave before opening up again to form the broad, elliptical belly of the decanter. The whole decanter stands on a wide base via a short, sturdy stem. This is unusual for a carafe, but gives it an even sleeker look.

The wine decanter is filled with your selected red wine to the widest part of the belly, giving the wine as much surface area as possible to interact with oxygen - or in other words: to decant.
