Made out of naturally grown reeds, these drinking straws by PAIO are an excellent sustainable alternative to conventional plastic straws. They also have an advantage compared to other environmentally friendly versions made of glass or metal: they are much cheaper and can even be composted naturally. Furthermore, they are taste-neutral and food-safe and delight with their wooden bamboo look that brings holiday feelings. Whether for thin or thick liquids, any drink can be enjoyed through these 18cm long drinking straws with a 10mm diameter!

The company has had experience in the economic exploitation of reeds since 1833. The stalks are handpicked and are natural because they do not come into contact with chemicals during cultivation or processing. Instead, they are only treated with water, air and heat. When grown, the reed drinking straws are even good for the climate: because PAIO grows reeds in moors. Many moors are now drained to break down peat. The cultivation of reeds, on the other hand, gives the wet moors an economic right to exist. Wet moors are important for the climate because they store CO2.
